I am commenting about the breast feeding over bottle feeding. Yes it is free to breastfeed rather using formula but I think that is where it ends. I have a son who is now 3 1/2 and was formula feed as I could not breastfeed. He was a healthy baby and is a healthy child. He has only ever been sick once in which case he caught the flu off of another sick baby who was breastfeed. This breastfeed baby was also sick very often with a cold or the flu where as my own formula feed son was only ever sick the one time.
Also I found that with formula you are able to make up enough bottles for a whole day a store them in the fridge so you can be at work and another, such as your husband or partner, can heat the bottle and feed the child for you unlike breastfeeding where you have to be there with the baby at the time.
