No Where to Go But Up

Written by Jan Ferrante

Ever have a day when anything would be a step up?

Those days that sometimes come at the tail end of an especially busy week. Or month. Or year. Or couple of years.

What ever the case may be, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

Overwhelm can turn to sadness, low energy and even a bad mood (gasp!).

Why not look at it another way.

Why not take any time that you can get, even if it’s just 10 minutes, to celebrate.

To celebrate by doing something to take a step up.

The great news is that things can only get better. Well, that’s the plan…

10 MINUTES IS ALL THAT IT TAKES

It’s easy for me to figure this out because I’m in this position right now. In fact, I just
told myself that anything would be a step up.

And I’m going to take myself up on that offer!

I’m going to get out of my chair and set my timer for 10 minutes.

Then tackle my ‘biggest thing’. It will probably take longer than 20 minutes.
But if I only do 10, I will be half way there!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a big step up.

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Are you feeling a little overwhelmed today?

How about it?

1 – Shut down the computer.

2 – Give thanks that you have the gift of the next 10 minutes to improve your life.

3 – Jump out of your chair with a smile. High five who over is standing closest. They are sure to think you are insane. That’s an added bonus.

4 – Rev your engines.

5 – Set your timer.

6 – GO!

Next time you are feeling overwhelmed, remember how easy it is to make it even a little bit better.

And that is always the best direction to go.
