Dinosaur Crafts for Kids
Hatch a Baby Dinosaur
Balloon
Newspaper
Small Plastic Dino
Glue
Water
Bowl
Safety Pin
Paints of your choice
Cover your area with newspaper. In the bowl you will need to mix glue
and some water to make a thin sticky liquid. (If you have liquid starch
this works well too.) Tear more newspaper into strips and set a side.
Place your small plastic dinosaur into the balloon before you blow it
up. Blow up your balloon so that it is egg shaped. Once your egg is
securely tied you will need to dip single slips of newspaper into the
glue/water mixture and then place all around your egg. Wait till your
egg balloon has dried. After it has dried you can paint your egg to look
like a Dinosaur Egg. When the Dinosaur Egg paint has dried, take the
safety pin and pop the balloon inside. You now have a Dinosaur Egg.
Noodle Dinosaur Fossil
Very fine potting soil
White glue
Pasta: (Penne, elbow, large elbow, rigatoni, ditali, radiatore, and
gemelli)
Styrofoam plate or tray
Measuring cup
Scissors
Mix a cup of potting soil with enough glue to make it stick together.
Mold it into a ball. Press the ball down flat until it is about a half
inch thick. Next press the pasta shapes into the dirt making a dinosaur
design. When you are done creating your dinosaur fossil cover the
fossils with a layer of glue. Drying time could take two or more days.

Choose a Dinosaur Picture from http://www.childstoryhour.com/coloringdino.htm
and print it out on the card stock paper. Color your dinosaur picture
and cut the picture into pieces. Take turns with others in putting your
dinosaur puzzles together.

Paint
Paper Towels
Cut the sponge to the shape of a T-Rex foot, to this by cutting the
sponge into a triangle then cutting out two small triangles at the
bottom of the triangle. This will look like a T-Rex foot when you are
done. Next take the Construction Paper you have and cut it into half
long way. Tape the two pieces together and fit to your child’s head and
mark this spot. Next cut out triangles on one side of the long
construction paper, this will give you the crown affect. Fold a paper
towel in to 4’s so that it is thick. Place your paint on top of the
paper towel and dip your sponge foot into paint. Make prints on the
crown. When dry tape/staple the crown closed and your child now has a
Dinosaur Crown.

Give your child both of these foods and the dressing for dip. Talk about
how some dinosaurs are meat eaters and some are plant eaters. Point out
that Meat Eaters had lots of sharp pointy teeth while Plant Eaters had
square flat teeth.
