linen-closetIn part 1 of this article we talked about organizing the sink and toilet areas. We learned how a sink should look and what the have on the top and what to put in the medicine cabinet. We also learned what to do if you need more room and what should be on the back of the toilet.

In this article we are going to talk about the closet and the bathtub. We will learn how to make the most of the space in the closet and what to do to make the bathtub look it’s best with the things you need right at hand.

•    Closet

The closet in the bathroom can be a catch all if you let it. It’s hidden from visitors and it’s one that is a lot of times forgotten. To make the best of this space, you need to make sure you have enough shelves. You want them spread out enough so they are usable, but you don’t want it to be too crowded.

On the very top shelve you will want items that you don’t use that often. These can be items that are just stored because you don’t want to get rid of them or you just don’t use them that often. This would be a good place for a comforter or sheets that are for the guest bed.

On the next shelve down you will want to put your towels and washcloths. Depending on how many you have, you may need to put some on the top shelve as well.

The next shelve down is for bathroom necessities. This would be toilet paper, new shampoo and conditioner bottles, bubble bath, and other miscellaneous items. You can also use a basket and put hair ties and other hair accessories. If you need to put your makeup items in the closet you can either get a small box to put them in or get a lid to a shoe box and put everything in there so it stays together and won’t fall out.

The bottom shelve can be used for the kids’ items. This can be for the toys, their shampoo, soap, etc. If you put the toys on this shelve, I recommend a plastic tub to put them in. You can also use this space for items that you don’t know where else to put. I have gift bags on the bottom shelve of my closet. The reason for this is I don’t have any other closets to put them in. Works good and we always know where they are.

•    Bathtub

The bathtub can be one of the most unsightly places in the bathroom. Some people keep the shower curtain closed at all times so that people using the bathroom won’t see what is inside. You don’t have to do this. One of the easiest ways to make your tub look good is to get one of those organizers that goes around the shower head. You can put your shampoo and conditioner bottles, soap, and razors in there. It will keep them all organized and you will have easy access to them as well.

If you don’t have room in the closet for the toys, you can put a metal shelf on the wall above your shower and put the toys up there. If you use the ones that are made of metal rods the toys will drip dry right into the bathtub.

Well there you have it, the perfect ways to keep your bathroom organized at all times. Now the hardest part will be keeping it clean, because it’s so organized everybody will want to use it. You can use these same steps in every bathroom in the house. You will enjoy having an organized bathroom.
